2022-23 Panini Immaculate Collection Soccer Preview & Checklist Breakdown

2022-23 Panini Immaculate Collection Soccer Preview & Checklist Breakdown

2022-23 Immaculate Collection Soccer is almost here!

Following a handful of now customary Panini delays, 2022-23 Immaculate Collection Soccer is finally locked in with release coming this Wednesday 28th June. Sticking true to the traditional Immaculate Soccer format we see a curated list of top clubs, national teams and all 20 English Premier League clubs with more than 1,200 cards on the massive checklist.

Box Breakdown / Print Run

Currently we only have information on the hobby box which has the following breakdown;
  • 7 Cards per pack
  • 1 Pack per box
  • 6 Boxes per case
Expected averages per box are
  • 2 Insert, Base Card or Parallels
  • 5 Autographs or Memorabilia Cards

Nothing from the box breakdown offers any surprises from previous Immaculate releases. Comparing the box breakdown to the checklist we can ascertain that roughly 17,800 hobby boxes have been produced for a total of 2,967 cases. This compares with ~16,500 hobby boxes and 2,750 case in 2021 Immaculate.

A print-run increase of ~7.5% year on year goes against what we have seen in most Panini 22/23 releases so far but on a high-end product like this, the quality is far more important than the quantity so we will take a deep dive into the checklist and see how it all looks.

Parallel Overview

The Immaculate checklist is overwhelming to say the least. There are 47 different card sets across the checklist of over 1,200 different cards encompassing base, parallels, autographs, patches and all-new short print inserts.

The biggest change to Immaculate this year is that the Introductions, Milestones & Moments cards are now non-auto short prints. These were some of the biggest auto's to chase in previous years. The card sets seem to have been replaced by the new Immaculate numbers Signatures, Splendid Signatures & Excellence Autographs. We don't have any images of the new auto sets but you can see the Milestones insert below.

The Milestones & Moments autos in particular were some of the most sought after in Immaculate so fingers crossed the replacements do the originals justice.

To make some room for the new inserts, the base set now starts at /75. This doesn't quite make enough room which is where the additional  ~210 cases in print-run come from. With only 3,600 of the inserts printed, the numbers show 1.2 inserts per case on average and with 100 different inserts on the checklist, they should be quite sought-after.

Base Set
  • Base #/75
  • Silver #/49
  • Sapphire #/25
  • Gold #/10
  • Platinum #/1
Inserts
  • Base #/25
  • Gold #/10
  • Platinum #/1
The other notes regarding paralles on the checklist include;
  • Any parallels listed as "ruby" will be found in the super exclusive Immaculate Asia Boxes. These have been released in previous years and feature 7 cards per box with all cards numbered /8 or less. I have removed the ruby parallels from the data used above.

  • There are a number of card sets that are "True 1/1" sets including Sneak Peek, Laundry Tags, Laces, Insignias, Dual Laundry Tags, Brand Logos, Tag Autographs, Quad Patch Signatures & Logo Signatures. A "True 1/1" is a card that has no parallels. Only 1 of each card in these sets is produced making them the most sought-after cards in every Immaculate.

  • As we saw with Prizm, there are a few card sets that will only be in the Asia exclusive boxes. These include the majority of cards from Reece James, Franck Kessie & Danilo are only in Asia whilst Phil Foden has 5 Asia-exclusive autos but still 10 available in hobby.

Summary & Impressions

After spending far too many hours looking at this checklist, I am approaching the product with cautious optimism. There are a lot of huge wins with the likes of Mbappe, Haaland, Gavi & Ronaldo adding some huge star-power. Box and case layout will be interesting to see and play a big part in things. Case hit autos are always a contentious debate and I've tried to apply some data to it. Adding together the players who in my oppinoin are the top shelf autos - Kaka, Maradona, CR7, R9, Mbappe, Messi, Beckham, Gavi & Haaland autos it gives you a number of 3,362. 1.13 per case or 1 in 10 cases having two of these guys. Pirlo, Henry, Lampard, Foden, Rivaldo, Pedri, Chiesa, Son, Pulisic and the USWNT autos all adding thousands more, every case should produce more than a couple of big autos.

Much to the excitement of influencers everywhere, there has been a roughly 38% increase in 1/1s compared to 2021. Based on my team breakdowns below, there are quite a few brilliant 1/1s but also a lot of players who've been broken down into numerous auto sets with lower print runs e.g. Joe Cole having two autos /33 rather than one /66.

I'm torn on how I feel about this, positive side is that it gives more people the chance to hit a short print of the player they are chasing - everyone is used to the collective sighs of "oh there goes the Haaland 1/1" in the days after release this checklist strategy negates to a point. It will however, lower the value of said 1/1s as people know there are very similar alternatives. Personally I'm of the belief that the best products are those that have a wider hit rate even if it is to the detriment of the product ceiling so I'm leaning towards this as a positive.

No-one should be surprised that there is a ton of filler autos and patches. To produce a product on this scale, it is a necessary evil. An Immaculate chase will often prove to be elusive and it can be a brutal and expensive chase. Contrary to the noisy minority, Panini have largely smashed it out of the park with releases this year. Whether EPL Prizm, all 4 Select releases or Donruss. The thing these releases had in common was a sharp reduction in print run compared to their forebearers. Immaculate has gone against this trend so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up.

Overall I expect it to be as exhilarating, demoralising and yet addictive as ever. The elephant in the room and what I believe what will elevate Immaculate well above anyones expectations is the inclusion of on-card autos and associated patches. In Select we saw some associated patches, La Liga & Serie A more so than FIFA or EPL & National Treasures 2022 brought us on-card autos so fingers crossed this trend continues in Immaculate.

Checklist Overview

Now onto the meat & veg of the checklist. I'll offer a quick breakdown on each team along with some quick thoughts. It is a massive checklist with 40 teams represented so I will try to keep it relatively short and sweet.

There are some glaring omissions from the checklist, namely Portugal, Brazil, Netherlands, PSG, Belgium, Dortmund & Bayern that I've noticed. Unsure what the issues are with these teams or they simply didn't make the cut due to what was available for them.

All 20 Premier League clubs once again make an appearance, most of which have a healthy amount of players in the base list. I would love to see some insight from Panini as to how they put checklists together. Some strange decisions such as 10 base for Fulham whilst Real Madrid have 3... Now we have the part that most would have come for.

Team & Nation Breakdown

AC Milan Overview

  • Base Set - 2
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 31
  • Patches - 17

AC Milan fans should be rejoicing after being well treated by Panini here. Cafu (396 autos) & Kaka (442 autos) dominate the auto checklist including what should be an incredible dual auto.

They are complimented by Andrea Pirlo, Saelemaekers & Diogo Dalot whilst Panini continue their over-commitment to Charles De Ketelaere with not only a ton of solo autos but a dual with Alexis Saelemaekers but a triple with Saelemaekers & Divock Origi albeit these only available in /5 or less in the dual and 1/1 in the case of the triple auto.

Rafael Leao is the most represented player with tons of patches and base cards whilst the exciting young French midfielder Yacine Adli carries their rookie duties.

Ajax Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 6
  • Patches - 1 (Sneak Peek 1/1 Bergwijn)

The biggest surprise for Ajax is how little they offer in the checklist.

4 of 6 Auto's are Jurrien Timber numbered to just /17 with the remaining two being True 1/1 Quad Patch Autos for Timber & Bergwijn. The 1 Patch is also a True 1/1 Bergwijn leaving very little to chase to Ajax overall. The base set covers the core team pretty well but disappointly Panini couldn't find room for either of Ajax's attacking starlets Mohammed Kudus or Francisco Conceicao.

Argentina Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 6
  • Autos - 54
  • Patches - 40

One hundred & five. I counted them a few times to be sure. The reigning World Cup Champions dominate this checklist.

13 of those cards belong to the great Lionel Messi. Whilst this sounds like a great number, a deeper dive reveals 7 of these cards are True 1/1s & from the remaining 6 cards, 2 are autos numbered to just /10, 1 Dual Auto with Dybala /5, 1 Base card & 2 Inserts. This will make Leo an incredibly tough chase but one that offers huge rewards should you be lucky enough to land one of the 28 autos in the product.

Julian Alvarez receives a base & Introductions insert that will almost definiely receive the RC treatment giving "influencers" everywhere a thread to pull after his cards in 2022 National Treasures. MLS Starlet Thiago Almada and Chelsea's $100m boy Enzo Fernandez both receive base RC cards as well.

Incredibly, some 31 months after his death, Panini are showing no signs of running out of Diego Maradona Autos with 74 cards appearing in this set, almost 3 times as many as Lionel Messi. The Golden Boy's posthumous cards continue to trend upwards as the Soccer side of the hobby grows so these will once again be a main chase.

The remainder of the Argentina checklist is stacked with autos or mem from Mac Allister, Di Maria, Emi Martinez, Lautaro, a ton of Martinez Quarta patches, Marcos Acuna Autos, Pochettino, Nehuen Perez, a TON of Dybala and a crazy amount of True 1/1s.

Arsenal Overview

  • Base Set - 8
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 5
  • Patches - 0

I feel that Arsenal fans will be more disappointed than excited at their Immaculate prospects this year. Whilst Thierry Henry autos return, it is only in the form of a Signature Move Booklet although it is numbered /99 with parallels.

Robert Pires, Sol Campbell & Marc Overmars each have autos but with only 25, 19 and 25 autos respectively, don't expect to see them too often. The base checklist covers most bases with Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard and Saliba RC amongst the 8 base.

AS Roma Overview

  • Base Set - 2
  • Inserts - 5
  • Autos - 21
  • Patches - 1
After rightfully feeling hard done by in the Donruss checklist, Roma fans will be happier in Immaculate. De Rossi & Dybala feature heavily on the auto checklist with Marash Kumbulla is a weird anomaly with 264 autos spread across 11 card sets, none numbered higher than /17.

Aston Villa Overview

  • Base Set - 1
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 9
  • Patches - 7

Aston Villa look OK on the surface but a deeper dive shows Darren Bent carries almost all their autos with 4 variations. Tyrone Mings has 2 both numbered /35 or less with the remaining 3 being Jacob Ramsey & Coutinho True 1/1s and the last a Gareth Barry true 1/1 booklet that promises to be a true product chase card.

Emi Martinez has a bunch of patches finally in a Villa kit (or maybe not knowing Panini) with McGinn, Coutinho both having SSP patches numbered /10 or less.

Atletico Madrid Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 5
  • Autos - 1
  • Patches - 7

Atletico Madrid have the shortest checklist so far. The numbers don't look too bad on the surface but 5 of the 7 patches are True 1/1s (Depay, Costa, Torres, Morata) with the remaining two being /8 (Depay) and /6 (Diego Costa). The 1 auto is also a True 1/1 (Yannick Carrasco) with the Base and Inserts belonging to Morata, Griezmann, Oblak, Koke, Llorente, Molina, De Paul and Carrasco.

Bournemouth Overview

  • Base Set - 8
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 2
  • Patches - 0
The first of our EPL Minnows, most will be thankful Bournemouth don't take up too much room on the checklist. A booklet each for Lewis Cook & Lloyd Kelly will have breakers across the globe sighing in disappointment. The base list features young guns Jaidon Anthony & Marcus Tavernier who both offer a rookie chase.

Brentford Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 11
  • Patches - 0

Our very own George's little Bee's that could keep growing in Panini's stable with a reasonably healthy 17 cards across the checklist.

20/21 Rookie Alumni Aaron Hickey & Mikkel Damsgaard feature on the SP insert checklist. Rico Henry features autos on 5 card sets but nothing higher than /30 whilst Keane Lewis Potter is close to having the most autos in the set with a staggering 786 across 6 card sets. Mbuemo, Raya, Jensen & Keane Lewis-Potter make up the base list that should please most Brentford fans despite them still not getting their first patch card.

Brighton Overview

  • Base Set - 10
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 0
  • Patches - 0
Small yet mighty is the Brighton checklist. Only 2 base per box means the chase will be tough (less than 1% chance of hitting any given base card in a box) but the reward for hitting any of the big 3 - Mitoma, Enciso & Ferguson massive as those players have been sporadically left out of other sets. Denis Undav begun to show some great goalscoring form towards the end of last season.

Chelsea Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 29
  • Patches - 5

The checklist formerly known as Chelsea. With the Chelsea squad changing faster than Domenic Toretto driving a '69 Charger, the Panini team had a hard job piecing this together. Of the 29 Autos, Arjen Robben, Azpi, Thiago Silva & Aubameyang hold most of them.

David Luiz somehow lands 5 True 1/1s alongside Drogba with 3. Frank Lampard has a Marks Of Greatness auto /25 that will be an incredible chase whilst the base seats are filled by Sterling, Chukey, Fofana, Havertz & Cucurella.

This is very much a transitional set for Chelsea, I wish Panini had of leaned on the legends a bit more knowing most of these guys won't be at the club soon but I'm not sure how many choices they had.

Colombia Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 29
  • Patches - 5

Colombia are back with a vengeance! Rafael Santos Borre has picked up the Felipe Pardo mantle with a quite frankly ridiculous 1,366 autos. That means 50.3% of Immac cases will have at least 1 of his autos!

Add in the hundreds of Zapata, Murillo & Sinisterra Autos and you have ~3,170 Colombian Autos. 1 for each case produced with a few hundred to spare! Joking aside, Sinisterra was playing very well prior to his injury at Leeds. He scored some important goals and I argue that his injury was what sealed their relegation. You could do far worse than chase his rookie cards.

Crystal Palace Overview

  • Base Set - 8
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 0
  • Patches - 0

Crystal Palace once again receive the short end of the stick in a Panini 22/23 product. Only 11 cards in total without a single patch or auto. There are no surprises either with their checklist in products virtually unchanged - Eze & Olise the standouts with Cheick Doucoure offering a rookie chase.

Czechia / Czech Republic Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 8
  • Patches - 15

The Czechian love-affair continues in Immaculate with a wide-ranging checklist featuring young-gun Hlozek Rookie Base and National Icons Barak, Soucek & Coufal Autos. Zima is a relatively unknown rookie to chase on the cheap. Antonin Barak has enough autos to ensure one in every 2nd case.

From what I've seen so far, the Czech's will offer an affordable chase that includes plenty of autos, patches and a couple of rookies to boot.

England Overview

  • Base Set - 1
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 43
  • Patches - 33

The Brave English Lions aren't here to make up numbers. Only 1 base and Insert both belonging to Jude Bellingham.

Beckham, Foden, Shearer, Lampard, Neville, and Kane lead the line with a ton of autos whilst the players carrying patches are a level down with Luke Shaw, Chilwell & Kalvin Phillips have a ton each.

Henderson, Mount, Sol Campbell, John Terry & Vardy each carry a True 1/1 giving England a super wide mix of solid hits in the set.

Everton Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 17
  • Patches - 12

In a huge surprise Everton carry a whopping 32 cards in the checklist with a wide range of patches, autos and rookies.

Jordan Pickford, Conor Coady & Tim Howard carry the autos whilst two rookies James Garner and Nathan Patterson make the base list. Garner was preferred in midfield by Dyche towards the end of last season ahead of much more experienced teammates and should be one to watch.

Onana is one that I liked the look of when I saw him play this year and he carries a bucketload of rookie patches on the checklist.

Worth mentioning is Wayne Rooney having a 1/1 Laces card. A true 1/1 but set to be one of the best cards in the series if and when it is pulled.

FC Barcelona Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 33
  • Patches - 24

In a massive coup for Panini  have locked in a good amount of Gavi autos. The just turned 18yo Spanish Maestro needs no introduction and has a full checklist with Base, Auto, Patch Autos and Patches! His midfield tandem partner Pedri has a very similar checklist. Both of them covering all bases.

The rest of Barcelona's checklist leans on the vets. Rivaldo, Stoichkov & Laudrup Autos add star-power whilst Lewandowski, Dembele, Raphinha & Busquets bring the current day fill with base, inserts, autos or patches.

Special note has to go to the incredible list of True 1/1s that Barcelona hold - Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Xavi & Iniesta all have at least one!

Inter Milan Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 22
  • Patches - 29

There cannot be too many arguments from Inter fans upon seeing the checklist. Tons of autos and patches across current and former stars.

From Alexis Sanchez & Arturo Vidal Booklets to Calhanoglu, Vidic, Bergomi & Brehme Autos the past and present is covered. Lautaro Martinez & Barella have a ton of patches and almost all the Inter cards have reasonable print runs meaning they should appear in more cases around 1.5 per case on average!

France Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 9
  • Autos - 9
  • Patches - 26

Another big checklist for for France but only encompassing 15 players. The clear highlight is Mbappe Autos and I believe the first ever Mbappe Patch Autos - Both available /99 and in all parallels which should see them fall 1:9 cases or so.

Martial Auto Booklets are there, will be interesting if they are live given so many people are still waiting for last years Immac and Prizm redemptions since 21/22. Nkunku also finally gets some Panini love with a base and patch cards.

As with most of the cards there are a few highlight True 1/1s from the likes of Saliba, Griezmann, Tchouameni and co. The rest of the team is true to form with the standout probably being the Zidane moments card. Despite this not being an auto it is a short print and if the design is done well it will be a great chase.

Fulham Overview

  • Base Set - 10
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 1
  • Patches - 0

Fulham are another EPL minnow low on the checklist but do get the one auto in Andy Cole which is /99 and below. A surprise addition is an Edwin Van Der Sar moments card that should be a very cool chase.

The Fulham base list is essentially Prizm with everyones favourite 28yo Rookie Kenny Tete and the tackling machine Joao Palhinha who I certainly expect to move to a big club sooner rather than later. He only had cards in Mosaic RTQ last year so you could do worse than pick up some short print 22/23 cards.

Germany Overview

  • Base Set - 8
  • Inserts - 10
  • Autos - 22
  • Patches - 43

Germany have had monstrous checklists in any set they've appeared in this year and Immaculate is no different. Patches, Base and Inserts for days. Based on the checklist we should see 2 German cases per case on average!

Sadly, the Auto checklist isn't going to get too many people excited. It is reasonably similar to Select with the addition of Thomas Muller quite cool but both his autos are /25 only. Lukas Nmecha and Andreas Brehme cover most of their autos. Lucas Podolski, Gotze and Hummels have True 1/1s which will be a sight to behold.

The patch list is insane. Ozil, Klose, Musiala, Lahm, Reus, Kimmich, Wirtz, Adeyemi & Sane just to name a few. If Immac brings back associated patches then it could be a sensational chase. My thoughts is we will see 50/50 associated vs non-associated. There are simply too many patches in the set for it to be all associated.

Italy Overview

  • Base Set - 0
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 50
  • Patches - 10

Jeepers, what a breakdown. 0 Base and 2 inserts but a whopping 50 autos!

The one that jumps out is that we finally see Chiesa autos! Only the 1 variant which is a patch auto but it is numbered /99 and below. The rest of the checklist is dominated by familiar names with Veratti & Pessina signing what seems to be 1 million cards each.

Gnonto continues to win favour with a bunch of Rookie Patches. Daniel Maldini gets autos as well as a bunch of vets such as Buffon, Nesta, De Rossi, Paolo Maldini, Cannavaro, etc. Some beautiful dual and triples featuring these guys will be a great chase but most dual/triple autos are /5 or less.

After sitting on the sidelines during WC releases, I don't think Italian fans will be too displeased.

Juventus Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 26
  • Patches - 38

Forza Juve! The Old Lady had a very nice spread in Immaculate. Tons of Autos and Patches including a few new surprises and old favourites.

CR7s move to Saudi Arabia has lead Panini to put the Portugese GOAT where ever they can fit him. Autos, Patch Autos, Patches and True 1/1s are on the menu for CR7 here but a lot of them are short print. In total, Juve CR7s should appear one in every 4 cases or so. There are some HUGE True 1/1s and Autos though.

Chiesa has a lot more cards for Juve than Italy. 695 cards to be exact meaning we should see him roughly once every 4 cases. Autos, Patch Autos and Base feature.

The remainder of the checklist is an eclectic mix of Top-shelf rookies such as the last two winners of the Serie A Golden Boy Fabio Miretti & Matias Soule as well as standard filler such as Cuadrado, Perin and Bremer but complimented by some cracking vets including Buffon, Dusan Vlahovic, Di Maria, Laudrup, Evra and Baggio across base, inserts, patches and autos.

Leeds Overview

  • Base Set - 8
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 0
  • Patches - 0

Panini continued the trend of almost ignoring the smaller EPL clubs as Leeds offer just base and inserts.

Wilfried Gnonto offers a nice rookie chase with many going in on the young Italian forward but beyond that it is much what we've seen in Prizm/Select with the Amercians Aaronson & Adams along with Sinisterra RC.

Leicester Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 8
  • Patches - 2 (Both Vardy True 1/1s)

Leicester have bucked the trend and seen some love from Panini. Vardy gets his swansong with a bunch of Autos numbered from /74 and a Milestone SP insert. Gary Lineker joins him with a Marks Of Greatness auto. There are two patches on the checklist but these are both laundry tag true 1/1s.

It was sad to see Leicester relegated and I'm glad Panini has given them a bit to chase in one of their last high end releases.

Liverpool Overview

  • Base Set - 9
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 7
  • Patches - 8 (5 are True 1/1s)

It still feels strange that Liverpool have favourable checklists but unfortuantely scratching the surface a little shows it may be a tough chase. Of the 8 Patches, 5 of them are True 1/1s inc Gerrard, Henderson, Skrtel & Xabi Alonso. The remaining 3 are numbered /8, /5 and /5. With those names they do promise to be incredible if you can hit them.

Auto-wise Liverpool featuring what I think is their first ever booklet in Bobby Firmino numbered from /99. David James has a pair of autos /43 and Xabi Alonso finally lands an auto in a Liverpool kit that will be highly sought after. Sadly this is /25 with no parallels. The remaining autos are all True 1/1s from Alisson & Xabi Alonso

Manchester City Overview

  • Base Set - 6
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 20
  • Patches -

The reigning treble winners were the first port of call for a lot when this checklist dropped and for good reason. They don't have a huge checklist but it certainly packs a punch.

Haaland has 11, yes 11 different auto designs. They are mostly short-print so its move of a flex/pad from Panini than him having a ton of autos. They should fall 1 every 6 cases or so.

Foden also runs a huge amount of autos on the checklist but be weary as some of them are only available in Ruby Asia variants and won't be found in Hobby. He still has a solid amount of autos and patch autos in Hobby as well as a base set. One of the chases of the product is sure to be the Foden / Haaland Dual which is numbered /15 and less.

Julian Alvarez RC hunt is on again with a base set. Carlos Tevez rounds out a short but deadly auto hunt for City. KDB has been relegated to just a base set and true 1/1 for the first time in recent memory. Ederson, Grealish, Bernardo Silva & Ruben Dias join him there.

Manchester United Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 16
  • Patches - 19

It's a tale of the young and the old for Man United here. Fans will be pleased to see Roy Keane autos but they do appear to be short with only 1 /25 and the rest SSP. Paul Scholes, Bryan Robson, Anthony Martial & Gary Neville get a booklet each, most numbered /99 and down. Andy Cole, Diogo Dalot & Vidic finish off a well-rounded auto list.

The keen eyes will drift to the stunning pair of triple autos on the checklist. Beckham/Scholes/Roy Keane & Nani/Tevez/Rooney. The former has a total of 4 printed and the later 9 so you can be sure these will be true product chases in every sense.

Alejandro Garnacho fans will need to be happy with a base set. If previous Immac rookie card are anything to go buy, except these to be super sought-after and valuable if you can land one. Antony, Casemiro, Sancho and the regular gang make appearances as do a bunch of true 1/1s.

The only noticeable omission is David Beckham (sans the triple) and Cristiano Ronaldo, the later which I'm not sure fans will be too bothered with.

Mexico Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 2
  • Patches - 22

Mexico features in a short and sharp checklist dominated by Patches. Pavel Pardo covers both autos which are /25, Edson Alvarez, Luis Chavez & Alexis Vega are the base set all of whom we've seen in other 22/23 releases.

No surprises here, lots of Mexico patch cards but the bulk of them appear to be Lozano, Ochoa, Jimenez & Guadrado - all well known Mexican internationals. Will be interesting to see if they are non-associated or not.

Newcastle Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 10
  • Patches - 9

Newcastle are a bit hit and miss here. 3 Base and 3 Inserts nails most of the right players - Guimaraes, ASM & Isak on the base is a cracking trio whilst the Shearer Milestones should be incredible. They do have 10 patches but these are either Goalkeepers - Pope & Shay Given or True 1/1s. Schar does have a boot patch /3...

A few nice Autos to chase for the Toon Army. Andy Cole, Joelinton & Alan Shearer all pick up a couple of card sets. Shearer is the shortest print being 2 cards /25 plus some parallels. Joelinton should be a bit easier to find with his /68 and /51 down whilst Andy Cole runs 3 autos /99 and should be the most common to find. Defensive True 1/1s is the flavour with Manquillo, Schar and Lascelles all holding 1 alongside Miguel Almiron.

Nottingham Forest Overview

  • Base Set - 6
  • Inserts - 0
  • Autos - 7
  • Patches - 2

The fun times continue for Forest fans with a reasonable checklist, especially when compared to some of the other less-known EPL teams in this set. Roy Keane has a trio of autos but these are all relatively short-printed, /25 is the longest.

Brennan Johnson is the main RC chase but sadly only has the base set. Dean Henderson offers a bunch of Glove Patches and Big Kiwi Chris Wood lends four True 1/1s in patch or patch auto form.

It would have been nice to see Panini sneak in some of the new signings beyond Wood as a 1/1 but Forest have done ok here.

Olympique Marseille Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 2
  • Autos - 17
  • Patches - 1 (Didier Drogba True 1/1 Laces)

Allez OM! The most surprising team on the checklist that is low-key a fantastic chase. 17 Autos, Sadly 15 of those are Sead Kolasinac & Pau Lopez but thankfully the other 2 are  Robert Pires & Alexis Sanchez. Their Base will include a couple of rookies but the standout will be the Alexis Sanchez Moments & Dimitri Payet Milestones cards which if done well will be stunning!

Real Madrid Overview

  • Base Set - 3
  • Inserts - 1
  • Autos - 36
  • Patches - 63

Hala Madrid indeed! Just one shy of 100 Autos & Mem feature for Madridista's to chase in this years Immaculate and boy oh boy does it run deep.

The clear highlight is The Phenomenon himself Ronaldo. Panini bucking the trend of some manufacturers and have put 5 R9 Autos or Patch Autos into this years immac, 4 of them /99 and one /52. They won't be anywhere near common but at least achievable for the many collectors who've longed for one since they were last seen in bulk many years ago.

The other stand-out is of course Cristiano Ronaldo. Again showing a handful of different Autos & Patch Autos but all are very short-printed. Some respite for those punting on a CR7 spot in breaks is that there are a ton of Madrid patches to hit for the great man.

The remainder of the checklist still runs incredible deep, a heap of patches for the likes of Luka Modric, Tchouameni, Robben, Camavinga, Casillas & More and Autos of Xabi Alonso, Roberto Carlos, Michael Laudrup, Camavinga & Rudiger. The True 1/1s for Madrid will be massive with Figo, Robben, CR7, Benzema, Ozil, Pepe, Rodrygo as well as an SSP Vini Jr / Rodrygo Dual Auto /5 or less.

Southampton Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 5
  • Patches - 2 (James Ward-Prowse /3 and True 1/1)

The Saints have been relegated on the pitch and don't get a huge amount of love in the checklist but one shining light is a very cool trio of Gareth Bale autos! All /99 with parallels meaning it should be reasonably obtainable for Wales & Saints fans alike.

The base-list has the ever-present Che Adams alongside 3 familiar rookies in Bazunu, Aribo and Lavia. Lavia will almost definitely get a move to an EPL club during the transfer window, the former Man City prospect is well worth a pick up.

Spain Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 26
  • Patches - 58

Quantity over quality is probably the theme for Spain. 91 different cards across the checklist with a huge amount of patches and autos.

Sadly Gavi does not get any Spain autos but does have a bunch of patches and a Introductions SP Insert. Pedri is surprisingly shunned with only 2 card types but pleasingly they are an SP Insert & Auto /73 and less.

Xavi Hernandez is a weird one - he has a handful of /5 autos but they are Asia Exclusive. His representation in Hobby is a patch /5 and two True 1/1 autos. Fabregas, David Villa & Alvaro Morata add shine to the checklist but with only 1/1s it will be merely aesthetic for all but the luckiest.

The bulk of the Spain Autos live with Oyarzabal, Pau Torres, Unai Simon & Yeremy Pino which is quite disappointing. Spain are looking to be the nation that hits often but rarely hits big.

Tottenham Overview

  • Base Set - 4
  • Inserts - 3
  • Autos - 12
  • Patches - 21

Tottenham have finally come out to play in Immaculate. After being largely shunned in previous checklists, some big boys return - hopefully live in the product although I won't hold my breath as Son & Kane both still have outstanding redemptions.

Heung-Min Son & Harry Kane return with autos, both in booklet form whilst Gareth Bale picks up two autos both /99 with parallels! Darren Bent & Oliver Skipp also continue their 22/23 run with autos here.

Son also picks up a handful of patches whilst Christian Romero has no less than 700 patch cards in the checklist so get used to seeing him pop up. Overall Spurs fans will be pleased with what they see. Not huge numbers but those chasing the singles should be able to find what they need.

United States Men's National Team Overview

  • Base Set - 5
  • Inserts - 6
  • Autos - 28
  • Patches - 39

USA! USA! USA! After regressing slightly in Donruss and FIFA Select, the USA checklist is back to its beautiful full flight in Immaculate. Just the Mens section is bigger than the majority of other teams in the set. 8,321 United States cards means every almost 47% of Immaculate BOXES will have a USA card in them.

As far as the Men's team goes, The LeBron James of Soccer returns with 7 different Pulisic auto cards although none are numbered higher than /25 so will be a very trick chase. Landon Donovan autos return with a booklet, John Brooks, Bobby Wood & Tim Weah all return as familiar autos.

An interesting one is the SSP Moments Inserts, Jordan, Turner, Pepi & Musah feature on these which is more than any other nation and depending on how they are done could be a cracking chase for USMNT fans.

There are an almost absurd about of SSP cards to chase with USA Men, Triple & Dual Autos ft Pulisic, Weah & Pepi are all numbered /1 even on parallels.

United States Women's National Team Overview

  • Base Set - 15
  • Inserts - 9
  • Autos - 23
  • Patches - 9 (All True 1/1s)

The USWNT checklist continues to grow with every release and based on the reception & market response to Donruss & FIFA, the ladies will be hugely sought after in Immaculate.

A staggering 15 base & 9 inserts is at least 8 cards more than any other team. I'm far from an expert on the USWNT so can't comment on the good or the bad but I will say only a few of the Women's autos are printed higher than /25 and they have a ton of True 1/1s so it may be a tough chase beyong the base cards. They do however have the highest printed Dual Auto in the set with Rose Lavelle & Mallory Swanson /49, /25, /10 and /1.

Uruguay Overview

  • Base Set - 3

  • Inserts - 0

  • Autos - 21

  • Patches - 28

Uruguay are another case of impressive on the surface and less so underneath. 21 autos - 19 of which are Agustin Alvarez & Mathias Olivera.

Olivera was a fantastic player for Napoli in their historic season just gone but is a 25 year old right-back who won't get too many hearts racing. Agustin Alvarez is a 22 year old forward currently playing for Sassuolo. He will wear the rookie logo and is capped for the international team but with only 1 goal in 22 appearances for Sassuolo, you will need to have incredible faith to chase him well. Nunez & Cavani both have a true 1/1 auto, disappointing as they would have made for great chases if they appeared in bulk.

Nunez & Cavani do have a lot more patch cards, multiples /99 with parallels. Agustin Alvarez & Gimenez also show up quite a bit in the patch checklist. With a total of over 5,500 cards, Uruguay will appear at least a couple of times each case but rarely with intent.

West Ham Overview

  • Base Set - 6

  • Inserts - 0

  • Autos - 4

  • Patches - 1 (Fabianski Glove Patch /16)

Whilst they weren't treated as badly as other EPL clubs, West Ham fans don't have a huge amount to chase. They do however have a couple of lovely autos.

The Bowen & Joe Cole autos could be beautiful but they are show printed with Bowen's two /33 and /25 whilst Joe Cole has two /33. The base cards feature a regular cast of Rice, Paqueta, Cornet, Antonio, Fornals & Soucek.

Wolverhampton Overview

  • Base Set - 5

  • Inserts - 2

  • Autos - 2 (Both True 1/1s for Adama Traore)

  • Patches - 2

Another short EPL checklist for Wolves. As good as no autos, SP Introductions insert for a centre-back (Nathan Collins) and a Milestone for a player who just left for Saudi Arabia (Ruben Neves). Matheus Nunes scores a RC base and Patch /99 with Parallels in the one silver lining.
